Wanda Jean Goff, 89, of Sandwich, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, surrounded by the love of family.
Born on August 26, 1936, in Savannah, TN, she was the only daughter of Newt Funderburk and Omiegean Virginia Gray. She married the love of her life, Jimmie Lee Goff, on October 29, 1955, and they celebrated 51 years of marriage. She was a loving mother to sons Kirk Scott and Jeffrey Lee Goff and grandmother to Alexander Lee and Madison Lynn Goff.
She formed many lifetime friendships from growing up in Tennessee, a lifetime of living in Illinois and even a few years raising her young boys in Hayward, California. Wanda worked many years as a Teacher’s Assistant and owned and managed a Hallmark Card Store in Oswego, IL. She also looked forward to working each year at the main gate office at The Sandwich Fair.
Her most cherished memories were times shared with family attending family events, activities with friends, and gardening. Wanda’s proudest moments were becoming a mother and grandmother and enjoying the special times together.
She is survived by her son Kirk Goff of Sandwich, her son Jeffrey Goff and his wife Linda, of Lee’s Summit, MO and their children Alex and Madison of Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and brother Larry Funderburk.
Those who knew her will remember special times of love, laughter and sometimes tears. Wanda is a Christian and a member of The Federated Church, Sandwich, IL. Her willingness to help and love for other created lasting memories that her family and friends will carry with them always.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Federated Church, 403 N Main Street, Sandwich, IL from 9 to 10:30 am, followed by a funeral service. A graveside service will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Sandwich, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Wanda's name to the Federated Church. Wanda Jean will be greatly missed and welcomed to heaven, always remembered by all who shared her love and friendship.
