Wallace F Benson, Age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30th 2025 in Sandwich Illinois. He was born on March 4th 1936 in Geneva Illinois, he is preceded in death by his parents Wallace Sr. and Rose (Lundgren) Benson, and brothers Ronald, and Donald. He is survived by his wife Catherine (Kerns) Benson, daughter Kristine Benson, grandchildren Rebecca (Jacob) Hasapis, Victoria Benson, Damion James, and Kayden Benson, and several great grandchildren.
On December 28th, 1953, at the age of 15, he and his brother received medals for heroism from the American Legion for rescuing two ice skaters that fell through the ice on the Fox River in Batavia Illinois.
Wallace graduated from Batavia High School in 1954, and proudly served his country as a radio operator in the United States Army during the Korean War. Once honorably discharged from the army, he continued as a ham radio operator for many years. Wallace graduated from Chicago Technical Collage as a Mechanical Engineer.
Wallace Benson will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, steady presence, and quiet strength left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Wallace had a way of making people feel valued and welcomed, offering support, wisdom, and laughter whenever it was needed most. His legacy lives on in the memories he created, the love he shared, and the many lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
