Vilma Balogh (Tamas)

Vilma Tamas (Balogh), 82, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Franklin Grove IL. She joins our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in heaven with her parents Imre Sr. and Mari (Pal) Tamas, uniting with her dear siblings Alex, Imelda, and sisters Marika and Elsa who both died in infancy.

 She is survived by her daughter Lisa Balogh, and loving grandson Kenneth Skoli (Cayla), great grandsons Hunter and Cameron. She also is survived by her siblings Vili (Johanna), Nandor Sr. (Helena), Imre Jr. (Moira) Tamas, and sister Elsa Jones. She is the aunt of Vili Jr., John, Magda, Linda, Nandor Jr., Andrew, Jennifer and Erik Tamas, Elaine, Bonnie and Doug Jr. Jones.

Vilma was born February 9, 1941 and came to America in 1956 as a refugee with her family fleeing the Soviet Red Army that invaded during the Hungarian Revolution. The family made Chicago, Ill. their home, where she lived most of her life in the Norridge neighborhood. Her brother remembers her growing up together as funny, a great artist and a loving sister, daughter and mother.
