Teresa V. Viland

Teresa V. Viland, 96, of Sandwich, IL passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. Teresa was born on September 12, 1927 in Enfield, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Sarah (Driscoll) Unfried. One of eleven children.

On September 8, 1948, she married Arthur Boeger and they had 5 children together, Bernard, Donna, Diane, Timothy and Bruce. Arthur passed away on December 27, 1965.

On February 24, 1972, she married Obert K. Viland, Jr. and they spent the next 51+ years together.

She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed games at Wrigley Field and road trips to Cincinnati, St. Louis and Spring Training in Arizona with Obert. She also enjoyed people and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Sisters, Margaret, Mary Frances, Genevieve, Beatrice and Rose; Brothers, Lawrence, Willard, Leo, Ambrose and Hubert; As well as one son, Timothy.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Obert; Daughters, Diane (Wesley) and Donna Franklin; Sons, Bernard (Carol) Boeger and Bruce Boeger; As well as 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 340 W. Arnold St. Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral mass will take place immediately following the visitation at 11:00 A.M. Cremation rites will be accorded and a burial will take place at a later date.
