Susan Fay (Schradly) Stamm, 80, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 30, 2025.

Beloved wife of Terry Stamm for over 61 years. Loving mother of Kathy Smith (Keith Boatner) and Kris (John) Nardone. Devoted grandmother and “Nana” to Dylan (Katie) Smith, LizSmith, Jake Smith, and Joey Nardone. Cherished great-grandmother (“Gigi”) to Emmett Smith.

Sue was born on March 23, 1945, in Aurora, Illinois. She attended East Aurora High School, where she met the love of her life, Terry Stamm. Sue graduated in 1963 and went on to attend Cosmetology School. On February 15, 1964, she and Terry were united in marriage.

Sue owned and operated a beauty shop in her home for many years, where she styled hair while raising her daughters. Later, she worked at Prisco’s Fine Foods in Aurora, where she took pride in creating beautiful gift baskets for customers.

Sue’s greatest joy was her family—her husband, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchild, her sister, and her many nieces and nephews. She loved cooking, baking, and hosting holidays, creating warmth and laughter wherever she went. Sue was her family’s biggest cheerleader, offering unconditional love and encouragement in every part of their lives. She also loved traveling and especially enjoyed winter trips to Mexico with family and friends. Sue had a gift for making friends easily and was known for her kind heart, welcoming smile, and infectious laugh.

Sue is survived by her husband Terry Stamm; daughters Kathy Smith (Keith Boatner) of Geneva, IL, and Kris (John) Nardone of Yorkville, IL; grandchildren Dylan (Katie) Smith of Suffolk, VA, Liz Smith of Newport News, VA, Jake Smith of Tampa, FL, and Joey Nardone of Yorkville, IL; and great-grandson Emmett Smith of Suffolk, VA.
