Ronald Earl Wallace Sr.

Ronald Earl Wallace Sr, of Rochelle, IL. passed away October 9, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was bom June 20, 1951 in Oregon, IL, the fifth of eight children born to Edgar and Thelma (Dummer) Wallace. He attended Oregon High School and on January 27, 1973 he married his
 
wife Maureen "Ann" (Maxey), whom he shared 47 years and three children with
 
Ron was employed by E.D. Etnyre for 35 years as a welder before retiring. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Some of his best days were spent with family and friends on the Rock River and down at deer camp. However, "The Pond" will forever be a place that holds the dearest memories of his time as a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
 
In addition to his parents, Ron is preceded in death by his brothers Edgar "Butch and Rick Wallace.
 
He is survived by his wife, Ann of Rochelle; his children Ronald Wallace Jr of Daysville, IL: Rachelle (Gary) Phillips of Rochelle, IL; and Lisa Wallace of Rochelle, IL. Eight grandchildren: Nathan White, Andrew and Justin Wallace, Wade, Gary. Devin and Elaina Phillips and Matthew Wallace. Six great grandchildren Lucas, Landon and Logan White, Melody and Emmitt Wallace, Paisley Phillips, and twins are expected in April 2021. Siblings, David (Sharon) Wallace of Daysville, IL: Roger (Julie) Wallace of Marydel, DE; Terry (Becky) Wallace of Mt. Morris, IL; Judy (Richard) Haskell of Clinton, IA; Bob Wallace of Daysville, IL: sister-in-law Melody Wallace of Oregon, IL; several nieces, nephews and longtime close friends Rick and Diane Florschuetz of Byron, IL.
 
Cremation care has been provided by Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, Rochelle, IL. Ron's family has planned a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date to be announced.
