Roemelle D. McArdle, age 102, moved to Ashton, IL in May of 2022 with her daughter, Dianne and granddaughter, Angela. She was born in Tunnel City, WI April 20, 1921 to Chas. Edward Snowberry and Martha (Prelipp) Snowberry and died November 30, 2023 unrelated to COVID.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held for friends and family on Saturday, the 20th day of April 2024 in Ashton, IL starting at 11:00 A.M. at Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 601 Richardson Ave, Ashton, IL 61006. There will be a luncheon to follow the services.
Roemelle married Lloyd (Bud) Pringle and had two children, Dianne Gavin (Pringle) (Venturini), and Robert Pringle. She had a daughter, Janice Anne who died at birth. Roemelle had 5 grandchildren, Joseph, (Josie), Angela, Michael, (Nicole), Danelle and Ryan who affectionately called her Beeba Mel. Her great grandchildren are Meagan, Sabre, (Jessica), Ellianna, Emmalee, Erik, Meaghan, Kyle, (Stefanie), Matthew (Lindsey) and Justin (Christine). Her great great grandchildren are Bella, Eva-Lynn, Serenity, Michael, Ainsley, Luna, Kinsley, and Hadleigh.
Roemelle and Raymond McArdle met and married briefly before he sadly passed away from a brain aneurism in the 1960s.
Roemelle enjoyed her job at Harnischfeger retiring after more than 25 years of service. She played golf on many occasions and has an authentic Hole In One certificate proudly on display. Roemelle was a fantastic cook readily sharing recipes of favorite delicacies and very well known by her grandchildren for the Christmas cookies she lovingly provided for them in individual boxes. She was extremely talented at knitting and crochet producing many blankets, mittens and precious keepsakes not only for our family of 5 generations, but also community projects at hospitals and various charity groups. She was a Girl Scout Leader and enjoyed playing Chicken Foot dominoes and many card games when grandchildren visited. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. I’d like to especially thank Ashton Bible Church for their assistance and generous help they have provided for her care and Serenity Hospice.
Arrangements were entrusted to Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.beveragefamilyfh.com
