Roberta C. Dettman

Roberta (Bobbie) C. Reilly, Dunbar, Bergeson, Dettman, 92, of Somonauk, passed away on February 25, 2026 in Sandwich, IL. Roberta was born in Geneva, IL to Cecil Luke Reilly and Clara (Patterson) on August 20, 1933.

she went to school at Yorkville High School. she married Wallace Dunbar on August 18, 1950 in Yorkville. She worked at MetLife for many years, then retired.

Roberta is preceded in death by her first husband, Wallace Dunbar, and second husband, Elmer Bergeson; Her daughter, Teresa Stewart-Hosey; And her grandson, Dustin Avenarius.

Roberta is survived by her husband Leon Dettman; Her sister, Colleen Gocken of Plano; Her Daughters, Laurie Avenarius, Cathy Saxe & Pattie Huber; Her sons, David and Donald Dunbar; Her son-in-law, Bruce Hosey; Her step-children, Brenda (Don) Albright, Tammy Dettman, Paul Dettman, David (Tracy) Dettman and Joanie Triantafillou; As well as 15 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She will forever be remembered for her sense of humor and her laugh. She loved to laugh and make everyone around her laugh with her comments and sometimes a little off color comments, without offending anyone. Always up for a good time.

Memorials may be given to the First Lutheran Church, 200 N Center St., Plano, IL 60545.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the First Lutheran Church of Plano. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. with a graveside service to follow out to Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano. Arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home.
