In Loving Memory of Robert Charles Wright
June 27, 1969 – February 26, 2026
Robert “Rob” Charles Wright, a man of quiet strength and unwavering devotion, completed his journey on February 26, 2026, at the age of 56. Surrounded by the family that was his world, Rob faced his courageous battle with cancer with the same steady resolve that defined his life.
Born in Aurora, Illinois, and raised in Sandwich by his parents, Janelle and Mike Muzzillo, Rob was a member of the Sandwich High School Class of 1987. It was there that he found more than just a diploma; he found his lifelong partner. On December 30, 1988, he married his high school sweetheart, Melissa Repko. Together, they built a life rooted in 37 years of deep, enduring love—a testament to the power of a "forever" kind of devotion.
A master of his craft, Rob dedicated 27 years as a Pipefitter for Union #597. While his skills were honed at Artlip and Sons and The Helm Group, his true professional legacy was forged during his 25 years at Aurora Generation. There, Rob wasn't just an employee; he was a pillar of the facility, recognized for a level of professionalism and commitment that ensured the success of everything he touched.
When he wasn't ensuring things ran smoothly at work, Rob was "beautifying" the world around him. Whether he was meticulously manicuring his landscape, coaching youth sports, or working as a subcontractor, he believed in doing things right the first time. He found his peace on the golf course, in the pages of a good book, or in the roar of a NASCAR race. A true Florida Gators fan, his Saturdays were often colored Orange and Blue.
Yet, for all his professional achievements, Rob’s heart belonged to his "fur babies" and his family. He was a man of quiet wisdom—the kind of person who didn't need many words to make his presence felt or his love known. His greatest joy was found in the bleachers of his family's sporting events, and cheering on the next generation with pride.
Rob’s legacy of hard work and gentle kindness lives on through his wife, Melissa Wright; his son, Joshua (Nora) Wright; and the grandchildren who were the lights of his life: Oliver, Camila, and Lailoni. He is also survived by his brother, Joe (Deb) Muzzillo; his mother-in-law, Ellie (Arnold) Allen; sisters-in-law Melody (Ronald) Hunt and Danielle (Mark) Moeller; and a host of nieces and nephews and personal friends who will dearly miss him. He now joins his parents, Janelle and Michael Muzzillo, and his father-in-law, Jerry Repko, in eternal rest.
The family invites friends to join them for a gathering of remembrance on Sunday, March 1st, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. A short service will follow at 3:30 PM. A larger celebration of Rob’s life will be held at a later date.
