Richard Edward Kontos

Richard E. Kontos 66, of Leland passed away April 10th 2018 at Presence Mercy Center Aurora, IL. He was born on January 7th 1952 in Malden MA. To the late Louis and Jean ( Burlingham ) Kontos.  He married Deborah Smith on July 15th 1972 in Oaklawn IL.  He worked and retired from Sandwich School District 430. He enjoyed watching the Cubs, old western movies, going to car shows, fishing, collecting die cast car, working with his brother in law Duane and listing to music. But what he enjoyed the most was his family and his granddaughter Lacie. His family and friends will greatly miss him. He is survived by his loving wife Debbie of Leland, his children John Kontos of Louisiana, Kelly ( Jim ) Beudreau of Peotone, IL, Melissa Kontos and Michael Kontos both of Leland and Linda Silas of Louisiana. His special granddaughter Lacie, 2 brothers; Peter ( Gill ) Kontos of FL and Skip ( Lynn ) Kontos of New Lenox, brother and sister in laws Duane and Nancy Smith and Rich and Diane McCaslin and  his Aunt and Uncle; Bob and Barbara Burlingham. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews a 1 great nephew. Funeral service will be held April 14th 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Beverage Family Funeral Home 104 Terry Street Sandwich, IL. with visitation held same day from 1:00 p.m. till the time of service.
