Richard G. Becker

Richard G. Becker, 88, of Sandwich, IL passed away on March 22, 2026. Richard was born on May 28, 1937 in Aurora, IL to Edward and Gladys (Decelles) Becker. He graduated from West Aurora High School in 1955. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Hawaii. He married Marlene Kellett on October 8, 1960 and they were married for 60 wonderful years before her passing in 2020. He was employed by Barber-Greene for 30 years and Richards-Wilcox for 15 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed many weekends with family and friends at Rolling Oaks Campground. He also enjoyed 13 cruises, playing bingo, going to the Friendly Center Club and going to the casinos.

Richard is survived by his children, Craig (Pam) Becker of Plano, IL, Brenda (Andrew) Denovellis of North Aurora, IL and Janice (Robert) Sherwood of Serena, IL; Grandchildren, Christopher Becker, Amber (Scott) Nadeau, Cathryn (Joseph) Solecki, Brittany (Adam) Witek, Bradley (Alyson Jarvis) Sherwood, Gerald Becker, and Sarah Denovellis; Great grandchildren, Leo and Emmett Nadeau, Cora and Reid Witek, Grayson Sherwood and Claire Solecki; As well as a brother, Lawrence (Dolores) Becker.

He is preceded in death by his parents; His wife, Marlene; Daughter, Marsha Lynn Ode; A grandson, Johnathon Richard Ode; As well as a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kathy Becker.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the funeral home with a graveside service to follow out to Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
