Reed Edward Hoffman, age 61, of Sandwich passed away at his home on January 20, 2019 after a long 6-year struggle battling cancer. He was born on September 28, 1957 at Sandwich Woodward Hospital to Barbara (“Boots” Rhoads) and Donald E Hoffman.
His early childhood was in Plano and later the family moved to Sandwich. He graduated from Sandwich High School in 1975. His biography shorten there is no way to encapsulate 61 years of a vibrant life in a few words, but in light includes being a true bears fan, his favorite beverage was BUD LITE, fishing and loving his grandson. He retired to poor health from Fox River Resorts.
Those left behind to honor his memory include, his daughter Anna Hoffman (Tim Yench) grandson Knoxley Yench, his mother Boots Hoffman, Brothers Phillip and (Lynn) Hoffman and Lynn E. Hoffman (Debbie), nephews Donald Hoffman, Bradley Hoffman, Aunt Darlene Gurley of Plano Texas, Uncle Ronald Rhoads of Scottsdale Arizona, and many fraternal cousins, and special family friend Pam Rhoads, Amanda Carico (Step daughter) and Debbie Farr, mother of Anna and Amanda.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents; Florence (Bender) and Bernard Hoffman, Clara Zinke and Herman Rhoads.
While we mourn his passing, we celebrate his life knowing that loving memories will always keep him near.
Visitation will be held at Beverage Family Funeral home on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral service will be on Thursday January 24, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Derber officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church, Northwestern Hospice or Donors choice.
