R. Fern Helin

R. Fern Helin, 90, of Yorkville, IL passed away on May 22, 2023. Fern was born on March 8, 1933 in Oconee, IL to Samuel and Edna (Stevens) Morgason.

Fern loved playing golf, dancing and singing. She loved being entertained and spending time with family. She also enjoyed fishing as long as someone was there to bait the hook.

Fern is survived by 3 children, R. Dean Underwood of Kansas City, KS, Jackie (Patrick) Herhalt of Yorkville, IL and Candi (Steve) Pence of Millbrook, IL; 1 grandson, Jarad (Katie Heiser) Pence; 1 granddaughter-in-law, Cara Pence; 3 great grandchildren, Carstin, Calyn and Kutter; As well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Her first husband, Russell Underwood, and her second husband, Ronald Helin; 1 grandson, Justin Michael Pence; As well as her siblings, Lucille, Chester, Elvira, Dale, Mae, Frank and Bobby.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry Street Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will follow out to Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home.
