Peter Ned Tomac, born March 26, 1945, passed away peacefully on the morning of March 3, 2026, at home and surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous nine-month battle with cancer.
Peter was born to Peter J. Tomac and Delphine Lois Tomac and was raised alongside his brothers, Nicholas (Lois) Tomac and Joseph Tomac, in Joliet, Illinois. In 1968, Peter moved to Plano, Illinois, where he began the life he cherished most - building a family grounded in love, hard work, and devotion.
Above all else, Peter was a family man. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. His strength, presence, and unwavering commitment to those he loved defined his life. He showed his care through action—by always being there, offering support, and putting family first.
Peter was preceded in death by his father Peter, his mother Delphine, and his brother Joseph.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, June Tomac, and his children: Peter James (Marci) Tomac, Curtis James (Jennifer) Tomac, George (Jillian) Hill, James Hill, and his daughter Arla (Eric) Hutt. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Travis, Samantha, Zach, Cody, Gabe, Jimmy, Ciara, Norah, Miles, Cooper, Adalyn, Ethan, and Alex, as well as six great-grandchildren, who were a source of great joy and pride. As well as his great grandchildren: Julianna, Cayden, Ryder, Xander, Carter and Easton.
Peter will be remembered for his strength, his dedication to family, and the steady love he gave throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the family he built with care and devotion.
