Nancy Marie Johnson

Nancy M. Johnson, 68, of Sandwich, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 30, at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Nancy was born August 24, 1957, in Morris, Illinois, to John Gerald and Loretta Ford.

She married Thomas Johnson on May 22, 1982. Together, they raised three children, Gerald, Gregory, and Stephanie, all of Sandwich.

Nancy graduated from Sandwich Community High School in 1975, where she participated in the Miss Illinois pageant. She later attended Waubonsee Community College, graduating from the nursing program in 1984. Nancy went on to dedicate approximately 45 years of her life to nursing and caring for others.

Outside of her career, Nancy knew how to enjoy life. She was an avid bowler for nearly 20 years, spending many memorable days and nights at Hometown Lanes and Idle Hour Lanes. She also loved attending the Sandwich Fair and singing her favorite songs at karaoke. These simple pleasures, along with time spent with family and friends, created countless memories over the years.

Nancy is survived by her three children, Gerald, Gregory, and Stephanie; Gerald’s fiancée, Rebecca; her two grandchildren, Easton and Autumn; her siblings, Stephen Ford and Cynthia Musich; her nieces, Rhonda Yates, Teresa Libner, and Michelle Guier; and her dear friends, Yolanda and Sylvia Gonzalez.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Johnson, and her sister, Deborah Ford.
