It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Minnie Lou Bland (67) on February 13, 2023. Minnie was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Minnie was born on June 7th, 1955 in Kentucky, and lived most of her life in Earlville. One of Minnie's passions was collecting cow-related items. She had a love for all things cows and her collection was a reflection of that love. Her collection ranged from cow figurines to cow-patterned dishes and everything in between.
Minnie had a passion for cooking and was known for her delicious meals. She was an accomplished thrifter and there was never a garage sale or secondhand store she passed by. She was also an avid gardener and loved spending time in her garden with her tomato plants, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Minnie is survived by her husband of 49 years Russell L Bland, 3 children, Tiffanny (Brian) Bernsee, Christopher (Mallory) Bland, Sean (Ashley) Bland and 6 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Eliza Irvin, a brother Charlie (Margo) Irvin, a sister Sue Irvin. She is survived by 3 sisters, Carol (Roger) Weiss, Louise (John) Tate, Roberta (Bruce) Brown, 2 brothers Huston (Lila) Irvin, and Allan Irvin.
A memorial service will be held in Minnie's honor at a later date to be determined. All who knew and loved Minnie are invited to attend and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to (shatterproof.org).
Minnie will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, her love for cows and collections, and her love for family and friends. She touched the lives of many and will always be remembered as a kind and loving person. May she rest in peace.
