Marlene Mae Andoe (Knight) was born in Bluffton, IN on January 2, 1938 and went to her eternal resting place on July 21, 2025. Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, Ethel and Clint Knight, and her brothers, Robert, Raymond, Blain and Butch and her husband George Andoe in 2017. She is survived by her children, Rhonda Blythe and James Andoe (Vicki), her 6 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren, and cherished nieces and nephews.
Marlene described herself as a homemaker, caregiver, mother, and wife. She married George four days after her high school graduation and never looked back. The following decades were filled with travel, having two children, and settling down in Plano where she built friendships and a community that is still thriving today. A community that helped raise the next generation and beyond.
In her spare time she enjoyed reading and putting together puzzles. Seeing musicals and playing cards with friends were treasured pastimes. She loved coloring and there wasn’t a scratch piece of paper in her home that did not have some doodle or her elegant handwriting on it.
With her enviable and unfailing faith, Marlene was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Plano. The compassion she demonstrated in her church spilled over to those for whom she was a caregiver. She volunteered with the Department of Child and Family Services (CASA), Hospice, Samaritan’s Purse, Open Door Rehabilitation Center, and Paralyzed Veterans of America.
In lieu of flowers, the family hopes you may consider a donation to the First Baptist Church, any of the above charities, or one of your personal favorites in Marlene’s memory.
