Linda Ann Swanson, 69, of Sandwich, IL went to be with Jesus on July 17, 2022 with her family by her side. The daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Nilsen) Hallstrom, was born May 28, 1953 in Sandwich, IL. She graduated from Sandwich High School and Northern Illinois University. She married the love of her life James (Jim) Swanson on June 26, 1976 at Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich, IL. Linda loved music. She played the flute from elementary school through college, taught Jr. High music in Plano, IL, and gave private piano lessons. Linda truly loved her career in real estate, one where she worked for 33 years. She recently was co-owner and manager of Swanson Real Estate and was a previous manager for Coldwell Banker Primus. Linda had a special gift of helping others. Her favorite things were traveling with her family to Disney World, swimming, watching and attending NASCAR races, celebrating the Christmas season, decorating her home with snowmen, and cheering on her greatest gifts, her children and grandchildren. Linda was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sandwich, IL.
Linda is survived by her husband Jim, daughter, Julie (Daniel) Haggard, son, Eric (Allison) Swanson, all of Sheridan, IL, six grandchildren, Andrew, Grace, Alex, Deacon, Sophia and James, sister in-law Carol (Ronald) Hill of Plano, IL, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Richard Hallstrom, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Richard Knecht, and her sweet dog, Wrigley.
A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Unity Hospice, Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion of Sandwich, IL, Jane, and all the amazing caregivers who have loved and cared for Linda. You have been true angels.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sandwich, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sandwich, IL. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL, followed by a luncheon at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Memorials may be directed to Our Saviors Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home.
