Karen Ann Torkelson, born on November 28, 1948, in Sandwich, IL passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025. She was the wife of Dale Torkelson for over 58 wonderful years. Together they raised four amazing sons: Randy (Mary) Torkelson, Greg Torkelson, Tim (Carrie) Torkelson and Brian (Kristen) Torkelson. Karen’s greatest joy was her family. She was so proud of her grandchildren: Nicole (Steve) Connell, Rachel (Cameron) Marshall, Noelle (Cassie) Ingram, Hallie (Jarrid) Gordon, Kiley Torkelson, Keara Torkelson, Jordan Torkelson, Brooklyn Torkelson and Owen Torkelson. She was the beloved great grandma of Myla Connell and Rowan Gordon.
Karen was happiest when she was helping others whether it was baking for loved ones, volunteering at the food pantry, making fleece blankets for Toys for Tots or cheering on her kids and grandkids. She had a passion for creating, whether it was building holiday crafts with Dale and her mom, baking desserts and even decorating in such a way that made every holiday special and memorable.
She was a true White Sox fan even through the thick and thin. She loved playing bingo, traveling on cruises with Dale, and soaking in the sun. She loved to Let It Ride and play the slots.
Faith was the cornerstone of Karen’s life. Her kindness, generosity, and belief in God touched everyone who knew her.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Marjorie Jones, and her brother, Gary Jones.
