Jesse L. Castleton

Jesse L. Castleton Sr., 79, of Sandwich, IL passed away on August 22, 2024. Jesse was born on September 21, 1944 in Streator, IL to Hoyt and Violet (Cave) Castleton.

Jesse served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, 1965-1966. He went on to be a truck driver, welder, also worked for Interlake Continental Water Co., K&K Drilling and Montgomery Wards Collection Department. Later in life, Jesse worked for First Student in Naperville from 2017-2018. Then he worked for Sandwich School District 430 as a bus monitor for special needs kids from 2019-2024.

Jesse also enjoyed video games, horseback riding and breaking horses, camping, hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Jesse was survived by his wife, Deanna Castleton; Children, Jesse Jr. (Lisa) Castleton, Jim Castleton; Stepdaughter, April (Sam) Alegre; Grandchildren, Christina, Gwen, Zach, Ryan, Justin and Aiden; Brother, Paul Castleton; Sisters, Beverly (Bob) Davis and Debbie (Jack) De Vault; Sisters-in-law, Shelba Bracker of Ohio, Jan (Don) Sinclair in Marseilles, IL and Donna (Johnny) Sczenski of Plano, IL; As well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Previous wife, Jeanette Castleton; As well as siblings, Mort, Jerry, Charles and Mary (Castleton) Reynolds.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 12:00 – 4:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548.
