Jeffrey "Willie" Wilhelm

Jeffrey “Willie" Wilhelm, age 65, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, at River Rock Hospice & Home in Sterling, Illinois. Born on July 20, 1959, to James & Carol Wilhelm in Sandwich, Illinois. Jeff lived a life marked by dedication to his family, community, and career.

Jeff devoted many years of his professional life to RD Motor in Sandwich, Illinois. His strong work ethic and commitment carried him through a successful transition to YRC, where he continued his career until his retirement in 2023. Throughout his working years, Jeff was known for his reliability and the pride he took in every task he undertook.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jeff was deeply committed to public service. For over two decades, he served as a Sheridan village trustee—a role that reflected his enduring dedication to the well-being of his community. His contributions left a lasting impact on those around him and demonstrated his belief in civic responsibility.

Jeff’s warm personality and contagious smile made him a cherished presence among friends and family alike. He found great joy in spending time with loved ones at the campground or relaxing at the family cabin in Wisconsin—places where laughter echoed and memories were made.

He is survived by his loving wife Rhonda Wilhelm of Sheridan, IL; daughters Christina (Christopher) Brown of Sheridan, IL and Melissa Wilhelm of Sandwich, IL; grandsons Aiden, Bryson, and Cameron Brown; Mother Carol Wilhelm of Sandwich, IL; and Sister Jackie Wilhelm of Sugar Grove, IL.

Jeff was preceded in death by his Father James Wilhelm; Aunt Joanne Smith; Uncle Richard Hauri; and Cousin Kelly Smith.

A man who gave generously of himself—to his family, to his neighbors, and to the place he called home—Jeff will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to those whose lives he touched. A Celebration of Life is set for July 20, 2025, at The Sheridan Elevator from 12-5pm.
