James D. Miedema Sr.

James D. Miedema Sr., 84, of Sandwich, IL passed away on July 19, 2026. James was born on September 11, 1941 in Bensenville, IL to Ona and Edna (Slinkman) Miedema.

James was an avid private pilot his whole life. At a young age, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had always worked hard to provide for his family.

James is survived by his children, Daniel Miedema of Dekalb, IL, David Miedema of Miami, FL, Debbie (Gerald) Fredricks of Robinson, KS, and James (Jill) Miedema of Bolingbrook, IL; Grandchildren, Mitch and Tawney; And brothers, Otto Miedema and Dale Miedema.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Joyce Miedema.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Chapel Hill Gardens West in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. Arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.beveragefamilyfh.com
