Gloria D. Parker

Gloria D. Parker, 88, of Sandwich, IL, formerly of West Frankfort, IL, passed away on December 16, 2022. Gloria was born on May 20, 1934 in Sheffield, AL to James Garfield and Dezzie Arseno (Kimbrell) Inmon. Gloria married Eldridge “Bud” Parker on September 23, 1950 in Fulton, MS. They lived in Alabama before moving to Chicago, IL in 1956.

Gloria worked as a housekeeper in office buildings before finally going to work at Good Samaritan Hospital.

She was a beloved mom and she loved her family above all. Her hobbies included gambling, Bingo and gardening. She was an avid reader of James Patterson. She also enjoyed cooking and big family gatherings.

Gloria is survived by her children, Dorothy Voice of Benton, IL, Barbara Kemmerling of Kell, IL, Richard (Nancy) Parker of Joliet, IL, Steven Parker of Kell, IL and Tammy Falkner of Sandwich, IL; As well as 17 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Her husband, Eldridge “Bud” Parker; As well as 3 brothers, 2 sisters and her beloved dog, Lady.
