Glenda J. Bloomingdale

Glenda Jean Bloomingdale (Livingston), of Davis Junction, IL, 70, born February 11, 1953, passed away on August 14, 2023 after battling cancer for 8 months. Daughter of Charles Bloomingdale and Carol (Bartelt) Bloomingdale. Graduate of Stillman Valley High School, class of 1971. Married to Leon Livingston, Jr. from December 1971 – June 1988.

Her working life was dedicated to the Hospitality industry for 35 years, retiring in 2009 due to a battle with breast cancer. Glenda was a member of several boards including: President of Rochelle Tourism and Visitor Association, GMAC (Arlington Hospitality) Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, Crusader Clinic (Rockford), Chairperson of Davis Junction Zoning Board. She held positions as: General Manager at AmeriHost Inn, Comfort Inn Rochelle, Assistant General Manager Resident Inn Hilton Head Island, SC., former member of the Rotary Club Rochelle, Paul Harris donor, Bookkeeper and Front Desk Manager at Elgin Holiday Inn, Auditor Holiday Inn Crystal Lake, Executive Housekeeper, Bar Manager, Front Desk Manager, Food and Beverage Manager Holiday Inn, Rockford (11^th Street).

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents; Sister, Lesa Hopkins; Brother-in-law, Doug Hopkins; Step-mother, Mary Bloomingdale.

She is survived by her children, Charles (Tammy) Livingston, Jessica (Joshua) Stewart and Heather (Anthony) Lozzio; Brother, Mark (Mary) Bloomingdale of Rockford, IL; Sisters, Mary (Randy) Jones of Oregon, IL and Elena (Marvin) Sullivan of E. Lexington, TX; As well as 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. 6^th St. Rochelle, IL 61068.
