Georgia Gladys Lipscomb

Georgia G. Lipscomb 92 of Rochelle passed away at Rochelle Community Hospital October 18, 2021.

She was born on August 22, 1929, in Chicago, IL to the late George and Georgia (Kunzer) Peterson.

Georgia enjoyed caring for people and was a caregiver as an occupation, she was a member of Rochelle United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, painting with oils and watercolors. Georgia also enjoyed gardening. She made costumes for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was a very strong woman, some say the strongest they ever knew, she also has a great sense of humor and was always there when you needed her.

She is survived by her 6 children: Lorraine Haidu of Naperville, Carol (Bill) Donnelly of Peru, Diane (Duane DuFay) Teal of Naperville, Dan (Vicky) Lipscomb of Rochelle, Jon (Rose) Lipscomb of Belvidere and Jennifer Meyer of Aurora.  15 Grandchildren. 16 Great grandchildren and 11 Great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her  2 nieces Margaret and Annie and 1 nephew George.

She is preceded in death by her parents , husband Harry 1974 sister Gladys Webber.

Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m Sunday October 24th 2021  at the Beverage Lyons Family Funeral Home 704 N 6^th St. Rochelle, IL with a family eulogy being held at 4:00 directly after the visitation. In lieu of flowers donation may be directed to Hub City Senior Center.

Masks are asked to be worn following Illinois Dept of Public Health Guildlines.
