Frankie Wayne Staton

Frankie Wayne Staton, 65, of Plano, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 27th, in his home in Plano. Frankie Wayne Staton was born in Ottawa, IL to Franklin D. R. Staton and Vivian Jeanean Staton (Jent) on January 16th, 1961.

He attended school at Plano and was a part of the 1979 class, where he played football, basketball, baseball, track and was a proud bass player in a garage band he formed with friends. He worked as Flooring Installer at Cooper Home Furnishings for 47 years. He was passionate about technology, music, the Chicago Bears, Reaper Athletics but most of all his family. His sons and grandsons were his absolute world, and was their biggest supporters in every aspect of life in sports, school, music, games and everything in between. He prided himself on being a father and grandfather (Papa) and captured every moment of life with his video camera or phone and always left us with a “be careful and I love you”. His smile, laughter, enthusiasm, quick-witted sarcasm and love will forever be remembered and never forgotten.

Frankie Wayne Staton is preceded in death by his father Franklin D. R. Staton and mother Vivian Jeanean Staton (Jent).

Frankie Wayne Staton is survived by his sons Ty James Staton and Brandon Michael Staton. His grandsons Conley James Staton and Nashton Maverick Staton. His brother Timothy Delone Staton and sister-in-law Carolyn Sue Staton (Beverage). His sister Vickie Jeanean McGuire (Staton). His nephew AJ (Elizabeth) Widman. His nieces Sarah Elizabeth Widman, Ashley Alene (Jon Young) Staton and Emily Erin (Luke) Johnson (Staton). His great-nephews and nieces Malakai Anthony Brown, Olivia Grace Staton, Avalyn Widman, Jonathan Delone Young and Vivian Widman.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026 at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 P.M.
