David Doherty

David Llewellyn Patrick Doherty, 86 of Sandwich, IL, passed away peacefully at home on March 3,2026.

David was born in Glendale, Ca to Margaret Inscho Doherty and Jack Doherty on March 28, 1939 and grew up in the Pasadena and Santa Barbara area. After serving in the U.S. Navy as a young adult, he spent his early adult life in San Francisco and then San Jose, where he later met his wife of the past 46 years Denise Beck, who he married on June 28, 1980. David retired from General Motors, inherited a farm, and brought his family to Illinois in 1989, where he has happily lived since.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Margaret Inscho Doherty and Jack Doherty; his brother John Patrick Doherty; and his son Sean Patrick Doherty.

He is survived by his wife Denise; his children Anastasia (Tom Serio), Kevin Doherty (Alyse), Deborah, and Lillian Hicks; his brother Dennis Doherty, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Doherty, Peyton Doherty, Tim Beck, Michael Beck, Tom Serio and Joshua Douglass.

The family would also like to thank Dr. Milani and Heartland Home Hospice, specifically his nurse Kathleen.

Visitation will be held on March 13, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. Funeral Mass will be held next day, March 14, 2026 at 10:00 am at St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, 340 W. Arnold St. Sandwich, IL 60548.
