David Alan Conklin

The family of David Conklin, 79, of Sandwich, IL is saddened to announce his peaceful passing on April 4, 2026. Survivors are his wife, Carol, of 50 years; Children, Nick (Dawn) Conklin and Stacy (Brandon) Davis; 4 grandchildren; As well as 2 sisters, Marjean Myers of Ft. Myers, FL and Judy Poole of Concord, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Marjorie Conklin; As well as 5 brother-in-laws, John Myers, Frank Poole, Kenny Mickelson, Byron Mickelson and Clifford Mickelson.

David was born and raised in Oswego, IL. He was then drafted and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. Sometime after returning home he met his best friend and love of his life for over 50 years, Carol. Together they raised the, as David would say, the 2 best things of his life, his children, in Sandwich. The things David enjoyed most were their trips to Disney and time together in their pool and being together. After retiring from Caterpillar after 30 years, they moved to Florida and enjoyed getting close to his family down there. 4 years ago they moved back to Sandwich to be close to their children and grandkids.

He will be lovingly remembered by his family.
