Cora J. Hughes

Cora J. Hughes, 85, of Plano, IL passed away on March 21, 2023 with her family surrounding her. She was born November 18, 1937 to the late Roy and Eleanor (Fairweather) Hyte. She worked many years as a nurse. She married the late Myles Hughes on October 25, 1958 and they spent 56 years together until his passing on November 10, 2014.

She loved bowling and was part of the Aurora WBA 500 Club since the 80’s and was a USBC Life Member. She was also inducted into the Aurora WBA Hall of Fame on November 13, 1999.

Cora also loved to sew. She was always making things for her friends and family.

Cora is survived by her daughter Terri (Albert) Sanmann of San Benito, TX; 1 granddaughter, Amanda (Thomas Jr.) Peverill of Sheridan, IL; Twin Grandsons, Brandon Sanmann of Sandwich, IL and Benjamin Sanmann of Louisville, KY; 3 great grandsons, who are her world, Thomas III, Austin and Ely Peverill of Sheridan, IL; 1 brother, Virgil (Jane) Hyte of Plano, IL; 2 sisters, Ruth (Ronald) Anthenat and Dorella (Louis) Wilson; As well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Her husband, Myles; 1 brother, Roger Hyte; 2 sisters, Mary Olson and Nancy Hyte; And a brother-in-law, Robert Olson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry Street, Sandwich, IL 60548. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded. A private burial will be held at a later time.
