Christine Marie (Runkle) Rerucha, age 56, passed away on February 4, 2026, in Sandwich, Illinois.
Born on August 23, 1969, in Winfield, Illinois, Christine was the daughter of Janet Nims and Vern Findlay. Christine was adopted at an early age by Jeffrey Runkle, who raised her as his own. She graduated from Rosary High School in 1987 and dedicated many years to her work at Edwards Hospital in Naperville. Her career reflected her compassionate spirit and commitment to caring for others. In recent years, she continued that devotion through her work as a caregiver.
Christine’s greatest joy came from her family. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who remained actively involved in the lives of her children. Whether attending school events, cheering at sports games, or traveling together, she was a daily source of support and encouragement for all.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher Rerucha; her children: Jesse (Zabrina) Michael, Justin (Olivia) Michael, Geena Rerucha, and favorite furry friends Mia and Honey; her sister Jennifer (Rich) Willman; and nieces Sarah and Samantha Willman. Christine is also survived by her mother Janet (Sue) Nims; father Jeffrey (Maryann) Runkle; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Donald and Louise Nims; her aunt Carole Kerr; and Vern Findlay.
A private funeral service was held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich, Illinois. A Celebration of Life for Christine will take place on March 14, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N Broadway, Aurora, IL.
Christine’s warmth and dedication touched many lives. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
Christine was strongly dedicated to her sister Jenni's cancer battle. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Waterford Place Cancer Resource Center in Christine's memory. The online donation link in Christine Rerucha's honor can be found here: https://copleygiving.rush.edu/project/49310.
