Carol Joy Youngs

Carol Joy Youngs, 85, of Sandwich, IL passed away on June 27, 2023. Celebration of life will be from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M., Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the VFW on Main Street in Sandwich, IL.

Carol was born to James and Lillian (Kodl) Mertl of Chicago, IL on March 4, 1938. She married William J. Youngs, Jr. on December 7, 1957. Carol enjoyed going out for lunch, and playing cards with her family and friends. She also enjoyed baking, golfing, attending to her flowers, painting, crafting and Elvis Presley.

Carol is preceded in death by William J. Youngs, Jr., her sister, June Nancy and her parents, James and Lillian Mertl, and her son-in-law, Greg Nystrom.

Carol is survived by her 6 children, Denise (Don) Anderson, Debora Nystrom, Wade (Laura) Youngs, Daryl (Shelly) Youngs, Kimberly Cushing, and Darren (Pam) Youngs; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; And 1 great-great grandchild.
