Carol L. Spears

Carol L. Spears, 76, of Plano, IL passed away on May 23, 2022. Carol was born on December 26, 1945 in Sandwich, IL to Shelty and Emma (Elza) Jones. Carol was an Avon lady for 45+ years, which she took over for her mom. She loved the Chicago Cubs and Bears. She also enjoyed playing Canasta for over 50 years in the monthly Canasta Card Club. She went to as many activities for her daughters and grandchildren as she could. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and liked having pictures around of family and friends. She enjoyed visiting with neighbors, family and friends, and loved having the blinds open to her windows to let the sunshine in.

Carol is survived by her identical twin daughters and their families, Carin and Isaiah Martin, and Sharin, Danny, Austin, and Christa Smith; sisters-in-law, Ruth Jones and Mary Jones; brother-in-law and his wife, Eugene and Nancy Spears; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim”; grandson, Darik Martin; parents, Shelty and Emma Jones; her brothers and their wives, Everette and Mary Lou Jones, James “Jim” Jones, Ralph Jones, Charles “Chuck” Jones, and George and Martha “Marty” Cross; a sister and her husband, Gloria Jean and Floyd Haycraft; sister-in-law and her husband, Joyce and Silas Tarrance; sister-in-law, Janice Spears;  and nephews, Casey Jones, Shelty Jones, and George Jones.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry Street, Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.  A graveside service will follow at Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home.
