Camille Frances Hanzlik

Camille Frances Hanzlik, 83 of Plano, IL passed away after a brief illness on August 21, 2023 at her home with her loving neighbors by her side.

Camille was born March 19, 1940 to William and Clara (Grud) Hermann. She married Alvin Hanzlik on January 23, 1965. They enjoyed 54 years together until his death in 2019.  Her primary professions were as a Registered Nurse working in local hospitals and a Social Worker. Camille always had a fondness for working with animals.  She worked at Brookfield Zoos children’s center educating them about the different animals.  She and Al even had their own goat herd as well as both were Master Gardeners in Kendall Co. Camille was very devoted to her faith and volunteered at both St. Marys’ in Plano and St. Paul the Apostle in Sandwich through the years as Bereavement Minister.  She was a very loving and generous friend to many in the community and will be greatly missed.

Camille is survived by her cousin, Roberta Wolcott, Bulverde, TX. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; Her loving husband, Alvin; Their infant daughter, Anne marie; And her brother, Arthur Hermann. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandwich, IL,  Shriners Hospital for Children or North Shore Animal League America.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry Street, Sandwich, IL 60548. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 340 West Arnold Street, Sandwich, IL 60548. A committal service will take place immediately afterwards at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Sandwich. Arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home.
