Barbara J. Forni

Barbara Jean Forni, 94, of Batavia IL, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2024. She was born on September 30, 1929, in Geneva, Illinois, to Peter and Lillian (née Klein) Armbrust. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and life-long caregiver, known for her quick wit, sense of humor, and selfless acts of kindness.

Barbara was deeply committed to her family, friends, and the Catholic faith. She found joy in being a fun-loving and humorous companion, always interested in the world around her. Barbara’s presence brought happiness to those she interacted with, and her absence will be deeply felt by many. Her survivors take comfort in knowing that she departed this world peacefully, and on her own terms.

Barbara is survived by her children, Rosemary Forni of DeKalb, Illinois, James Forni of Geneva, Illinois, Nancy Flagg of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jeffrey Forni of Sandwich, Illinois, Sally Arturi of Phoenix, Arizona, sister Dolores Rawson of Geneva, Illinois, brother Lloyd Armbrust of Yuma, Arizona, grandchildren Jennifer Semenchuk Pianovski, Charles Semenchuk, Julie Forni Lanzara, Emily Flagg Hoff, Kelli Krahn Menssen, Anthony Arturi, as well as many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Joseph, daughter Jean Ann, brother Norman Armbrust, sisters Mary Ellen Armbrust Krasinski, Carol Anne Armbrust Henson, Kathleen Armbrust Peach, niece Gail Rawson, nephew Ron Rawson, and grandson, Brian Forni.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. in the mausoleum building at Resurrection Cemetery, 37W210 Fabyan Parkway, Geneva, IL 60134. Services are being handled by Beverage Family Funeral Home, Sandwich, Illinois.

Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her loved ones, infectious sense of humor, thoughtfulness, awful singing voice, and as a merciless croquet player. :) She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew her.
