Anita "Tiny" Tuttle Abens

Born January 5, 1939, in Sandwich, IL, the last of seven children born to Arthur O. Tuttle and Mary Angelina (née Duvick) Tuttle.

Died peacefully on Mother's Day, May 10, 2026, in the home they built and lived in for 60 years.

Preceded in death by her mother, father, brothers Robert Tuttle and John Tuttle and sisters Wanda Crawford, Marilyn Dienst, and Norma Hooker.

Survived by her husband John "Bud" Abens, children Rick (Diana) Abens, Tricia (Gary) Rutherford, and Robert (Melissa) Abens, 8 grandchildren - Ann (Brad) Rutherford Alexander, Alena (Jarrod) Abens Rice, Greg (Lauren) Rutherford, Eric (Kate) Abens, Philip (Chelse) Rutherford, Nathanael (Megan) Abens, Bradley Rutherford, and Zachary (Rachel) Abens, 13 great-grandchildren, and her sister Beverly Ulvenes.

Married her high school sweetheart on April 11, 1958. Moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, for a few years, while John was in the air force, where their son Rick was born. Moved back to Sandwich where their daughter Tricia was born. Moved to Roswell, New Mexico for a year where their son, Robert was born. Finally, moved back to Sandwich for the rest of her life.

Anita was gifted at sales and had a great love for jewelry. While in Cape Cod, she combined them and sold Sarah Coventry jewelry. She went on to sell real estate for many years. She enjoyed going to and having garage sales. She loved to sell jewelry at her garage sale, with a story about each piece.

Visitation will be 12-2 and funeral service at 2 on Monday, May 18 at Beverage Family Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL. Burial will follow out to Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Anita's 6 grandsons - Greg Rutherford, Eric Abens, Philip Rutherford, Nathaniel Abens, Bradley Rutherford, and Zachary Abens
