Andrew Walter Hodorowski

Andrew "Andy" W. Hodorowski, 75, of Somonauk, Illinois, passed away on June 16, 2026.

Andy was born on May 29, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to Walter and Emilia (Kosienak) Hodorowski.

Andy proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, earning a Combat Action Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal. After leaving the service as a Staff Sergeant, he met Karen, and together they shared more than 40 years of love and companionship.

Andy worked in the heating and cooling industry for more than 40 years and always had a story-or several-to tell from his time on the job. He enjoyed spending time with his fellow veterans, both at home and during their meetings. A devoted dog lover throughout his life, Andy had many beloved companions, but his sweetest girl was Molly.

Whenever possible, Andy could be found fishing or out on his boat, enjoying the water and the outdoors. Above all, Andy was a devoted father and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He loved his children deeply and was immensely proud of them. His grandchildren, Alyssa and Jason, stole his heart, and he will forever be remembered as their beloved "Papi."

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his children, Allen Hodorowski of Burbank, Illinois, Sarah Hodorowski of Chicago, Illinois, and Andrea (Josiah) Young of Sandwich, Illinois; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Jason and Tiffany; and his siblings, John (Debbie) Hodorowski of Virginia, Rose (Larry) Wolyna of Indiana, Frances Hodorowski of Indiana, and Edward Hodorowski of Indiana. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Thomas Hodorowski.
