BettyLou H. Burton

Kings - BettyLou H. Burton, 85, of Kings, passed away April 9, 2007 at Rochelle Community Hospital. She taught for Rockford school district for 17 years and Ogle County for 3 years. BettyLou was born May 9, 1921 in Kings, Il., daughter of John Robert Holmes and M. Elizabeth McCallum. She married Clarence “Ken” Burton on July 20, 1946 in Chicago. She received her Masters and Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University, graduated from Moser Business College, Chicago. Past matron and life member O.E.S. Adeline chapter, Belvidere (originally Holcomb chapter), member of Winnebago Retired Teachers and Illinois Retired Teachers. She was preceded in death by her husband. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday April 13, 2007 at Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Home 704 N. 6th Street Rochelle 815-562-6872, with Rev Carl Polstra officiating. Interment will be at White Rock Cemetery in Kings. Visitation will be 10:00 - 11:00 am prior to services. Memorials may be made to Rockford Rescue Mission.
