Virginia Mary Hodges

Virginia Mary Hodges, 92, of Elburn, IL, passed away on July 20, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born on July 3, 1925 in Oak Park, IL to Charles and Victoria (Kubczak) Huff. In 1946, after WWII, Virginia trained to be an RN through the United States Navy and later retired as the Systems Coordinator of Surgery at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She raised her 7 children in Lansing, MI and West Chicago, IL and was an inspiration to them as a gracious, fierce and compassionate woman. Her best friend in life was her sister Elizabeth Fowler. Virginia was an avid Cubs fan her entire life and was ecstatic to have witnessed the World Championship win in 2016. She is survived by her children; Carolyn Kopecky of Elburn, IL, Bruce (Kate Anderson) Hodges of Golden, CO, Kim Jennings of Casper WY, Dr. Kevin (Margaret) Hodges of Portsmouth, NH, Angela Richards of Clovis, NM, Steven (Robin) Hodges of Warrenville, IL, Sheila (Marc) Pacione of Chicago, IL, her 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
