Geneve Hepfer

Geneve Hepfer, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, died peacefully June 3rd at Rochelle Hospital with her family at her side. She had a massive stroke one day before. Geneve was born on August 17, 1920 near Chana, Illinois, the daughter of Osa and Mabel (Dailey) DeLair. She graduated from Oregon High School in 1938 and married Joseph Hepfer September 24, 1938. He died October 4, 1999 after 61 years of marriage. Geneve was a homemaker and operated her family farm. She love to crochet, sew, cook, and garden. She was a christian. She was very devoted to her family and they will miss her very much. She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Hepfer and Roma Kotcher (husband, Oscar Prestinary), granddaughters, Anne Bucy (Justin) and Missy Mazza, five great-grandchildren, Jake Bucy, Wyatt Bucy, Chloe Bucy, Tony Mazza and Joey Mazza, and two step granddaughters, Susana Prestinary and Viviana Prestinary. She was preceded in death by her parents. Private gradeside services will be at Lighthouse Cemetery.
