Susan Kaye Hawley Born 11-05-1948 – Montgomery, Illinois and passed away on 03-28-2017 in her home in Millington, Illinois surrounded by her family. Daughter of Walter J. Touvell and Helen (Bean) Touvell. Sue married William Frank Hawley on 06-07-1975 and lived in Aurora, IL until 1978 when they moved to Millington, IL. Susan graduated in 1966 from West Aurora High School, she also finished her cosmetology training with her sister Sally in 1984. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Walter Touvell, (2) sons William Jr. and Michael. She is survived by her husband William of almost 42 years, four sons, James Walter Hawley of Campbellsport, WI, Todd Michael Hawley of Ohio, IL, Timothy Eric Hawley of Seneca, IL and Jason Blaine Hawley of Marseilles, IL, 31 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters Sally (Touvell) Curtis of Sandwich, IL, Jurine (Touvell) Bartlett of Amboy, IL, brother, James Touvell of Montgomery, IL, many cousins, 6 nephews, 3 nieces and 4 wonderful daughter-in-laws. Sue worked for 20 years between Judges Photography and Old Second Bank in Sugar Grove when she retired 2004 to spend more time with her family. Sue had many hobbies and interests. She loved to camp at Mendota Hills Campgrounds, her Pomeranian dogs, gardening and road trips. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking with her grandchildren. Sue was an accomplished quilter, making over 21 quilts for her grandchildren and others. Sue was a woman with many fine qualities that defined who she was. These attributes enabled her to fight with dignity and unwavering faith. Her strength enabled her to fight her illness until the end. Her sons, daughter-in-laws, siblings and husband all were there for Sue throughout her battle with cancer. Sue was the matriarch of the family and as her sons said, “we always knew where we stood with mom”. She fought the good fight and is now rejoicing with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sue’s wanting to be read to by her husband, sons and family from Bible reading, to meditations and prayer is what will be remembered of her spiritual life. She is home now with the rest of her family. The loving care she received from her family in her final days was a true blessing. Many people made up the team that cared for Sue during her illness. Thank you to all those from Oswego Dryer, Copely Hospital, Tillers Rehab Facility, Guiding Light Hospice and Ann from First Light Homecare for the exceptional care, love and guidance you gave to Sue and our family during this difficult time. Thanks to Beverage Funeral Home from Sandwich, IL for arrangements. Aughey
