Alvira Mae Peterson

Alvira Mae Peterson 92 of Rockton, IL passed away on January 17, 2017 at her home. She was born on March 4 1924 to Alva and Gertrude (Shaffer) Thomas in Westfield Indiana. She graduated from The Cleveland Bible & Music Major College in Cardington, OH, She had been a past member of The First Church of the Nazarene in Sandwich, IL and a current member of the River Chapel Nazarene Church of Rockton, IL She married Donald L. Peterson whom they raised 5 children. She is survived by her Children; Esther ( Jerrel ) Reding of Rockton, Lidonna ( David ) Bevins of Granbury, TX, daughter in law Sheri Peterson of Winter Haven, FL, Larry ( Moya ) Peterson of Overland Park, KS and Carleen ( Tom ) Bohannon of O’Fallon, MO. Grandchildren; Jackie Gallagher, Jason, Garrett and Josh Reding. Brian and Michael Bevins, Londa Forrest, Ashley Gray, Brittney Johnson, Brandon and Amanda Peterson, Shelly Stillman, Matt and Nick Harris, Thomas, Jennifer and Heath Bohannon. Great-grandchildren; Starla Bevins, Kiarra and Keegan Stillman, Ezrela, Keila and Jada Bevins, Ayden and Ashlynn Reding, Gavin and Colin Peterson, Jackson Harris, Alexis and Aubrey Gray, Jacob and Nathan Johnson, Preston, Zoe, Gage and Miley Bohannon. Sisters; Luella Thomas and Freda Krauss. Brothers; Gilbert Thomas, John Thomas and Joseph ( Maxine ) Thomas. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Donald L. Peterson, Son; Bruce E. Peterson, Brother; Samuel Thomas Sister; Ruth ( Daniel ) Woolums. Funeral service for Mrs. Peterson will be Sunday January 22, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the River Chapel Nazarene Church 14053 Nazarene Dr. Rockton, IL. with Reverend Paul Simmonds officiating Visitation will be same day from 1:00 p.m. till the time of service. Interment will be Monday January 23, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at the Oak Ridge Cemetery
