Verl Dean Mowery

Verl Dean Mowery 76, of Plano passed away on October 23, 2016. He was born August 27 1940 in Elco, IL. To the late Artie and Alma (Cruse ) Mowery. Verl worked for Caterpillar over 30 years and was a member of many fine car clubs and the Early Day Engine Club. He won first place for his entry in the AACA Hershey Pennsylvania car show, for his 1904 Olds. He had a wonderful collection of antique cars and engines over the years. He enjoyed to the max with some of the best cars. He had many many good friends over the years. He was truly a wonderful friend to all. Just ask and he would be of help to all who needed help. Verl was a wonderful craftsman and mechanic. He could repair and restore anything. On his final path he had wonderful care and left his world in good hands. He passed on peacefully. Verl truly did it his way! He will be missed by all who ever crossed his path. We all loved him. He was survived by his wife; Jean (Zeller)Mowery of Plano, Daughter; Dianne (Timothy) Dempsey of Plano, Grandchildren; Zachary and Rachel Dempsey of Plano. His sister Delois Myers of Chana. Daughter in law Wendy Wade of Sandwich, sister in law Ruth Werchick of Hawaii and many nieces and nephews. He preceded in death by his son Michael Dean Mowery, his sisters Rosile Judd, Sandra Gail Hemmenway and Beverly Mowery , Parents; Artie Mowery and Alma (Cruse) Mowery- Homola, Grandparents; Milo and Clara Cruse. Son in law Stephen Belk. Graveside service will be held Saturday October 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery Sandwich, IL.
