James ( Jimmy ) Stanley Henry

James ( Jimmy ) Stanley Henry 71 of Rockford passed away on October 15 2016 at his home. He was born on October 11, 1945 in Amboy IL to the late Arthur and Ella ( Grisham ) Henry. He loved training and racing Sulky horses, he was a member of the Green River Saddle Club. He served his country with the US. Army in Viet Nam and received his National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal and his Expert Rifle ( M-14 ) He married his sweet heart Colette in MO. and she was at his side when he passed. He is survived by his wife Colette. Sons: James and Nathan Henry. 4 step children Wendy ( Carlos ) Pelayo, Rebecca ( Jon ) Wade, Jerry and Daniel Drew and his sisters Joyce Child and Olive Myer. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held October 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home 601 Richardson Ave. Ashton, IL. Interment will follow to the Ashton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday October 20, 2016 from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home and also from noon until the time service.
