John Charles Arndt

John C. Arndt 96, of Rochelle passed away September 18th 2015 in Rockford, IL. he was born April 19th, 1919 to the late John and Alma ( Bradow ) Arndt in Medford , WI. He served in WWII in 5 combat theaters and received several medal including the Purple Heart Medal, 2 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct metal, African Middle Eastern Ribbon with 1 Silver Star and 3 over Seas service Ribbons, He was a life member of the VFW Post 3878 in Rochelle. He is survived by his sons; Rae ( Patricia ) Arndt of Rochelle and Roger ( Sandra ) Arndt of Hill Crest. Grandchildren; Dorinda Riley of Jeffersonville, IN , Jonathon ( Lisa ) Arndt od Plattsburg, MO and Bobbie Lynn Arndt of Bloomington, IL. Great grandchildren; Raeman, Bethany, Brittney Riley, Justin & Cody Bower and Brittany Arndt. Great Great grandchildren; Eva Golden, Rickey Golden III, Jordan Arndt, Haley Riley, Raymond Riley Jr., Marissa Riley, Adrianna Riley Jayden Bower and Jackson Bower. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Eva Ruth, brothers Alfred and Ervin and his sister Louis Bauchaurd. Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 23rd 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home 704 N. 6th St. Rochelle. Interment to follow at Trinity Memory Garden Rochelle, with Military Honors conducted by the Eastern Ogle-Lee VFW Honor Guard.
