Joseph ( Joe ) Roland Flyte

Joseph (Joe) Flyte, 54, of Sandwich passed away suddenly at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL on April 2, 2015. He was born on October 6, 1960 to Roland and Joan (Olson) Flyte in Sandwich, Illinois. He married Lisa Bonner on September 29, 1984 in Sandwich, Illinois and spent the next 30 years happily married. He and his wife are owners of Creative Sewing Center in Geneva, IL. Joe was the current Governor of the Moose Lodge #1016. He loved sailing in Fort Myers Beach and Lake Michigan. He loved traveling, camping, tinkering, and building things. He enjoyed being involved in the Boy Scouts community with his three sons, who all became Eagle Scouts. But most of all he enjoyed his family. He is survived by his wife Lisa, his sons; Eric (fiancé Sarah Sherman) of Sandwich IL, twins Grant (fiancé Laura Larson) of Gurnee IL, and Alex (Anna) of Elk Grove Village IL, 2 sisters Barbara Jean (Howard) Shackelford of Indiana, and Judy (Ben) Davis of Florida, 2 brothers Jesse (Kathi) Flyte of Joilet IL, and Jon (Peggy) Flyte of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents and his younger brother Jackson. Funeral and visitation services will both take place at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 2465 W. Sandwich Rd., Sandwich IL 60548. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend David Kaul officiating. Visitation will take place Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be directed to the Bell Tower Fund at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
