Mary Lou Scherer

Mary Lou Scherer 76, of Sandwich passed away October 31, 2013 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavillion in Sandwich, Illinois. She was born on December 13, 1936 in Union Township, Arkansas to Nancy Smith. Mary Lou was a cookie baker. It was a requirement by her family. We worked most of her life as a nurse’s aide in home health, hospitals and nursing homes. She organized the drivers for meals on wheels and she worked several years at Fox Valley Older Adults in Sandwich. She always loved taking care of others. She is survived by her husband John; her children: Michael (Marlene) of Borger Texas, David of Gurnee Illinois, Chris (Ronda) of Plano Illinois, Stephen of Denver Colorado, Paul (Jill) of Springboro Ohio, and Daniel of Plano, Illinois. Her sisters; Linda (Lonnie) Hood , Thelma Goon. Her brothers; Clarence and Donny, and her nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her precious son John Steven and two sisters, Shirley and Barbara. Funeral Services for Mary Lou will be Monday November 4, 2013 a 10:00 a.m. at St Johns the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk with Fr. Thomas Brantman officiating. Interment will follow at St John’s Cemetery.
